Problems with your penis can have a huge impact on your sexual function.
No man wants to admit that there may be a performance issue with their star employee.
Let’s face it, we’ve been made to feel that our worth as a man comes down to income, physical appearance and how well we can perform in bed.
Given this increased pressure, men have been more and more secretive about any possible penis problems they could have.
Opening Up About Penis Problems
Whether your concerns are externally based such as physical appearance, or internal such as chronic pain or lack of performance, we refuse to let anything other than positive notes be written about the partner in our pants.
Another contributing factor to our lack of knob knowledge is the poor state of health education available in the United States.
Thankfully the world has a new stage to attend class from that can host any teacher, and that stage is the glorious internet.
While all of this information is now available at our fingertips, it can be horrifying seeing the pictures of our brothers in arms and their poor penis problems.
6 Common Penis Problems We Tend To Ignore
Let’s break down some of the most common issues you could run into, letting you know what’s going on when you don’t want anyone else knowing first.
Erectile Dysfunction, ED
Starting strong out of the gate with one of the most concerning, if not the most worrisome problem, is the struggle of living life with erectile dysfunction.
It’s estimated that about one in three men suffer from this performance DE-enhancer, causing a lack of erection or ability to maintain one during sex.
This can be frustrating if it occurs chronically for all involved parties, turning a fun night into an awkward conversation of “Well, now what?” before turning on the TV.
Medication is available to treat the problem and it’s always a good idea to speak to your doctor, especially if you’re on medication currently as ED can be a common side effect.
Phimosis and Paraphimosis
Changing gears to the exterior of your construction shaft, we have Phimosis and Paraphimosis.
Phimosis is when the head of your most loyal soldier can’t escape its helmet due to the foreskin being too tight.
Imagine you’ve put on your favorite hoodie and drawn the strings around the hood as tight as possible. Now, try shoving your face through while the strings are knotted and refuse to move.
This is Phimosis, but instead of just keeping your face stuck, it can cause infections and extreme pain during sex if not treated.
Paraphimosis is the other end of the foreskin spectrum, often being the result of an injury that doesn’t allow your snakeskin to go back to its natural resting state.
Instead, it’ll look like a band of smooth skin around the shaft that refuses to change its ways and will remain there until a doctor steps in to save the day.
Premature Ejaculation
The topic of concerned young adults and their first forays into romantic relationships is none other than premature ejaculation.
This speed-run of sex isn’t a race us men are wanting to win, but rather take our time and make the race as fun as possible.
Impacting every one in three men just like erectile dysfunction, this problem can make sex a pipe dream for your, well, for your pipe.
The level of premature ejaculation can range from shortly after sex starts to men having wet daydreams just thinking about taking their favorite partner to bed.
Priapism
Priapism is NOT a blessing in disguise like many men want to believe.
It’s caused when the blood is unable to drain from your penis and leaves it in a perpetual state of unwavering salutation.
While this can seem like a great solution to always being ready for sex, the immense pain it begins to cause when untreated will make you question whether or not you want to use your tool ever again.
Thankfully, at least relative to the situation, the solution is typically a single appointment with your doctor where they’ll drain the blood with a syringe.
Balanitis
Men, if you gave your doctor a tip for their work delivering you, you may never experience the world of balanitis.
The condition is natural and most commonly found under the foreskin in uncircumcised where microorganisms decide to settle down and start their own family.
While these organisms tend to be benign in nature, lack of proper hygiene can let the worst of the bunch start multiplying leading to infections, pain, inflammation and a discharge of fluids that aren’t on the list of regular liquids that leave your spout.
Balanitis is also a symptom of some sexually transmitted infections, meaning you should check in with your doctor ASAP if you’re feeling less than clean down there.
Peyronie’s Disease
Have the shudders and horrified thoughts started getting better now that you’ve been educated on your Johnson? Yeah? Good, because you’ll need to prepare for this one.
Peyronie’s disease takes the question of “How’s it hanging?” and takes it to the extreme.
It’s the formation of scar tissue in the shaft of your penis, causing a permanent curve to be established that can be over 30 degrees in angle.
Depending on the angle, this can cause a kink in your hose that doesn’t let blood in and stops erections from even being an option without extreme pain or a half-mast performance.
It’s Time To Stop Ignoring Those Penis Problems
So what do you say men?
Isn’t it time to take back control of the best part of your body?
The answer is yes, so don’t waste another moment being ashamed of your problematic package.
Reach out to your doctor and lay it all out there so they can get you back on the saddle and riding at your best.
Don’t forget, every tool needs maintenance and yours is no exception.
